Centrifugal pumps are wastewater pumps that are powered by an electric motor or engine and have one or more impellers that move wastewater by changing kinetic energy to hydrodynamic energy. Centrifugal pumps are very popular today because of their versatile usage and the various fluids that can be handled by the system. Miami Pumps is knowledgeable in all centrifugal water pumps and it has earned us the honor of being Paco Pump distributors, Pioneer Pump distributors, and MP Pump distributors, as well as a supplier of Goulds water pumps.
Centrifugal pumps include an impeller that is inside a case. Liquid flows into the inlet—the suction portion of the case. It is then flushed through the discharge port. The speed injected into the fluid by the impeller is converted to pressure, also known as head. Head is the height a fluid will reach when pumped straight into the air. A bigger and/or faster moving impeller results in a higher liquid velocity, but slower liquid results in energy converting to pressure. Because of this ability, centrifugal pumps are used for a variety of fluid pumping systems. They are most commonly used in wastewater and water plants, agricultural industries.
Miami Pumps can guide you in choosing a centrifugal pump that best fits your needs. Our engineers are experts in all centrifugal pumps and Paco Pump distributers, Pioneer Pump distributors, MP Pump distributors, and Goulds Water pumps, all of which allow us to bring you the best in centrifugal water pumps.
There are various types of centrifugal pumps for your specific needs. The single stage centrifugal pump contains one impeller. It is used for low to moderate pumping and have proven to be very dependable. Multistage centrifugal pumps have two or more impellers and are used for moderate to high total dynamic head (TDH). You also have pumps with open impellers, partially open or semi closed impellers, and closed impellers. Open impellers are used in inexpensive pumps and those that handle suspended solids. Partially open or semi closed impellers are used for liquids with not as much suspended solids. Closed impellers are used in large pumps and can handle suspended solids without risk of clogging.
Miami Pump engineers are experts in all centrifugal pumps and are proud to be Paco Pump distributors, Pioneer Pump distributors, MP Pump distributors, and Goulds Water pumps. Call Miami Pumps today to discuss your centrifugal pump needs and to plan your next centrifugal pump purchase!
